How far modern feminism has fallen from it's wonderful beginnings

I was recently walking around London and came across a statue, I've often walked passed on Charing Cross road near Leicester Square. The statue is of Edith Cavell somebody I know little about.

Edith Cavell was a nurse during World War 1 who was celebrated for treating injured soldiers on both sides of the conflict without discrimination. She was fiercely brave and helped 200 servicemen escape occupied Belgium and return to Britain.

She was caught by the Germans and executed for failing to observe medical neutrality. The night before her execution this brave woman said "Patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone".

This is 180 dgerees opposite to the toxic feminism that we currently see in any female space.

The absolute glee which fourth wave feminists seem to take in active, bigotred, transphobia is completely unsuprising when you see how sexist & prejudiced modern feminism has become. In my view, it is no longer about equal rights. It has become gender facism with only one gender being fully pure.

I used to wear the t-shirt "This is what a feminist looks like" but there's no way I could wear that now. Feminism is sick, it's lost it's way, it's prejudiced and has now become a hate ideology with more similarity to extremists like Islamic State rather than egalitarianism and equal rights.

It is absolutely consistent with the rise of Trump in the USA, the rise of populism in Europem with Farage in the UK and Geert Wilders in The Netherlands. Feminism itself has become more authoritarian and lost it's tolerance and it's basic foundations of egalatarinism and freedom for all. I go further that modern feminism is a traitor to the noble causes set up by these women at the turn of the 20th century and is absolutely perverse to what these women wanted. If you want to see what feminism is going to look like in 20 years then simply look where it started and simply observe today and extrepolate that decline by another 20%. Feminism today would now be completely unrecognisable to the noble movement that brave women such as Edith Cavell and Elizabeth Parker started.

  1. It's a bit of a stretch to say that the Suffragettes were noble. They were terrorists, and this is acknowledged by the UK government. Feminism was never about equal rights, because with rights come responsibilities, and women have been exempted from those commensurate responsibilities, as is the wish of almost every woman. Feminism is about power without accountability.
